Why Cushions?
When Rugs for Good began, our focus was on creating beautiful, ethically made rugs that give back. But from the start, we knew that was only the beginning.
We wanted to design a home range that layered comfort, warmth, and purpose - pieces that made your home feel good in every sense.
Cushions felt like the natural next step.
A simple addition that ties a room together, softens a space, and tells a deeper story. Each cushion in our first drop carries that purpose, blending texture, neutral tones, and timeless design with meaning that matters.
The Story Behind the Weave
Every cushion in this debut collection is handwoven by women artisans in Panipat, India, lovingly known as the City of Weavers. These are women whose hands hold generations of skill, patience, and artistry - and whose hearts hold dreams for their families’ futures.
Co-created with Nikky, a talented 28-year-old textile designer and rising star in India, this collection is built on shared values. Nikky’s mission is simple yet powerful, to employ and empower as many local women as possible through weaving.
“When I met Nikky,” says Rugs for Good founder Jess, “I knew she was the perfect partner. Her mission mirrors ours - to create beauty with purpose, and to help women find independence and confidence through their craft. Together we’ve created something I’m so proud of - cushions that are as purposeful as they are beautiful.”

Meet the Women Behind the Weave
Our cushions are stitched with more than thread, they carry the stories of the women who made them.
Suman, 37
Suman fell in love with weaving at just fifteen, watching her father create intricate designs on his loom. Today, she dreams of buying her own scooter to take her children to markets and explore her community with freedom and joy.
Nagma, 38
Married young, Nagma learned weaving from her husband. Together they’ve turned this craft into a livelihood that supports their five children. Her dream is to host a beautiful wedding for her eldest son — a celebration of love, tradition, and all the hard work that made it possible.
Rupa, 35
Rupa learned stitching from her mother, starting small by sewing clothes for her neighbours. Now, she stitches cushions with pride and precision. Her dream is for her daughter to finish school and become a teacher — a dream she’s turning into reality, one cushion at a time.
