Meet Magala
Before being sponsored by Shanti Bhavan, Magala’s future seemed predetermined, working as a housemaid, like her mother and every other woman in her village. Today, she’s studying economics and showing other women that a college education is not just a dream but a real possibility.
Meet Arasu
Arasu grew up in a dilapidated tent, his family constantly harassed and forced to flee because of impossible debts. Thanks to Shanti Bhavan, he became the first person in his family to receive an education. Now, he’s preparing to graduate and change his family’s story forever.
Meet a member of our artisan team
When one of our team members joined us at 21, he walked 4km every day to get to work because he couldn’t afford transportation. Thanks to our commitment to paying 3x the industry standard, he was able to save up and buy a bike, cutting his commute time dramatically.
It’s our dream to one day open a school for the children of the artisans who work with us. This school will provide free education so they can learn and thrive without needing to leave their families.
